Today is a day to celebrate. Four years ago today, I became a mother for the last time when I accomplished the most challenging labor of all four of my births.
More than that - our world has never been the same since the addition of Little Sister. She is four today. Happy Birthday Little Sister!! Life is never boring and anything but predictable with you. It was your arrival that completed our family. It was your arrival that gave your daddy what he had desired for an entire lifetime - a son and a daughter. It was your arrival that taught me so many lessons.
Four years have flown by in the blink of an eye but yet I can remember portions of those times as they are etched on my heart forever.
You are worth every laugh, every tear, every dream, every dissapointment, every spanking, every hug, every smile, every challenge, every accomplishment, every mark on the growth chart, every song sung, every jump, every trip to the park, every prayer, every trip to the doctor, every paper hung on the frig, every trip to the ER, every meal consumed, every question asked, every juice cup fixed, every picture taken, every new outfit purchased and worn, every face wiped, every bottom wiped, every diaper changed, every bed changed, every twinkle in your eye and every devilish twinkle behind that......and most of all......every "I love you mommy" that your little mouth has ever uttered and every single time your little hand has slipped inside of mine and felt the grip.
Everyone was right - late-in-life-surprise-babies are the joy of your heart and you continue to be mine. I hope I continue to be deserving of your love and hugs.
Happy Birthday!
