I love shopping malls....I like watching the people most of all but I love the decorations and hustle and bustle of the holiday. I don't like seeing little children dragged around by stressed out parents who have a long list of things to do and are being hindered by uncooperative/tired children.
What do you think of when you think of shopping malls this time of year? Have you been to your local mall? What is the atmosphere like there? Is it a place that you like to frequent?
Just found your blog through Sing for Joy! I'm avoiding the mall this year at all costs because I'd be one of those moms with the tired child and the long list! But, I love going there when it's a calmer place.
I'm going to jump on the "Spread the Sparkle" train over the weekend! Great idea! By the way, I'm from GA, too!

I don't particularly care to actually shop at malls....I receive too much "sticker shock" from them. Plus a lot of the stores are geared for teenagers, and well that clothing is just not my style. I do enjoy "looking around" in the stores at malls but I rarely buy anything.
I have to drive at least 40 mins to get to a mall since we live way out....so my time is usually spent running errands which I never have time to complete (so I keep a running list) whether I have kids with me or not.
I prefer to shop without kids because it is less stressful, I can get more done, and it is not the most funnest thing for a child to do and I'm sure I have more reasons if I thought about it more....however, I do not live in a perfect world and I do have kids with me quite a bit when I shop.

I'm afraid that I dislike most shopping malls most of the time.

I like the mall at Christmas (in small doses). It's one of the most festive places around and can get me a holiday mood inspite of myself. I can't resist the wide-eyed children riding the train through a Christmas wonderland or waiting in line dressed in their holiday best for the chance to whisper in Santa's ear. Our mall always has concerts by school choirs in the evenings and on weekends. Right now a radio station is hosting a radiothon there to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

I LOVE the mall at Christmas time! All the happy people, picking out just the right gifts for those special someones...the decorations...the music...all of it!

I spend a lot of time at the mall at Christmas. I can get my shopping done when the boys are in school this year. (Wow, what a difference that makes!) And, when they come home, we like to go and see Santa, and the decorations, and just be around the hustle and bustle. They are so full of unbridled energy and excitement, it gives them an outlet for it.
PS, I Like the idea of the security code, but am having a hard time reading it, can you change the color?
