01. Total volume of music files on my computer?
I have 4 song files on my computer. I do not listen to music files on my computer, I listen to them on our surround sound stereo system in our den. We (my husband and I, although it is more him than me) have 2 CD changers in our den that are chock full of CDs of all kinds. One holds 500 CDs and it is full, another holds 300 and there are about 75 free spaces.
02. The last CD I bought was?
I can't remember if it was Three Doors Down or Rascal Flats latest CD.It's been too long since I purchased a CD - several months.
03. Song playing right now.
Nothing - I've just finished 3 margaritas along with my dinner (I went on a date tonight) and then spent 45 minutes in our hot tub to finish off my date. Let's just say that I don't need music playing on any piece of equipment.
04. Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order).
I love Concierto de Aranjuez, 2nd Movement, by Rodrigo. This is some of the most sensual and melodic music that I've ever listened to. Each time I listen to it, its like hearing it for the first time. I've experienced it performed live on three separate occasions.
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by J.S. Bach....... Its like I'm in the presence of God when I hear this piece done well with full chorale and orchestra
The Rose, as performed by Bette Midler. My best friend in high school and I used to ride around downtown Atlanta during his first year at Emory Medical University, singing this song in harmony at the top of our lungs and I always think of him when I hear it (he is deceased now) and the message of that song touches my heart still.
Joseph's Lullaby - This is an original concert and orchestra piece written by my husband. The melody first came to him the night that our son was born at home as my husband was rocking him for the first time. He didn't know any lullabies so he made up his own. Over the next few months, it developed chords, harmonies, melodic counterpoints - into a full composition for orchestra and concert ensemble. I encouraged him to write it down in a score. A few weeks later, we submitted it to the publisher and the rest is history - everyone loves it. This will always be a special piece to me because I understand the emotion within and behind it.
If you would like to hear this piece - leave a request in the comments and I'll return the mp3 sound wave file to your email box. It's one of the four that I have on my computer.
Which leads me to the final song that is special to me. I Believe as performed by Andrea Bocelli....
(the opening lyrics)
One day I'll hear
The laugh of children
In a world where
War has been banned
One day I'll see
Men of all colors
Sharing words of love and devotion
If you'd like to experience this song (because it IS to be *experienced*), just leave your request in the comments section and I'll share the mp3 sound wave file with you.
