QOTD 9/23/08: What's the Funkiest You've Ever Had.....

Your toes done?

I go regularly for manicures and pedicures.  I am usually a little on the conservative side and will go for a modest design of flowers or something if not just plain color.

This time; however, I decided to walk on the wild side.

 

My youngest children think it's wonderful.....

QOTD 9/22/08: What's On Your Desk Today?

Here's whats on mine, to the right on my laptop.....my very favorite things.

Picture of my youngest daughter.  This is by far my favorite picture of her in black and white.  I love the shadings and her expression.  It is exactly her personality.

That's the laser printed over in the far right corner and of course, the usb hub to the left and my keypad for data entry and my red-balled mouse.  The orange paper is children's activities from church for the coming week and I think that may be a Children's Place coupon under the Maxwell book.

And here's the view to the left of the laptop:

hmm....there's my date book in the middle bottom and a deposit ready to go to the bank at the 3 o'clock position.  My Robert's Rules of Order book and another John Maxwell "Make Today Count", stapler and tape dispenser, some store coupons for Wednesday's grocery shopping trip, and some  spiral notebooks that I was going over to bring people's contact information forward.

There's my phone, some pictures, and on the wall is my dream board, some quotes that I like to review on an hourly basis and a few pictures.  To the far left is my standing file so that I don't lose another speeding ticket (or any important piece of paper) in error.  In the middle is the open case of CDs from the workshops that I attended at our National Convention in Dallas, TX back in August.

QOTD 9/11/08 Where were you?

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

I was on the interstate on my way to Savannah to meet with an attorney handling a suit involving an auto wreck and my injuries.  I remember listening to the radio and hearing what was happening and thinking of my friend (NYTwinMom) who lived in NY but it wasn't until I actually saw the footage on my sister's television that night that the impact of what had happened hit me.

I cried well into the night for all of the people looking for loved ones and those who already knew they had lost loved ones.

A few years later I would cry again while standing at the Twin Tower's site with my friend and having gone through the church across the street and seeing/reading all that I did. Hmmm....

Today is my youngest neice's birthday - I love you PooBear!  Happy Birthday!

8/18/08 QOTD: What Plans Are Coming Together For You?

In November, MusicMan and I are going to be the guest of one of his major music clients at this event.

This is a HUGE event in the industry and no amount of money that we could ever spend on advertising for MusicMan's business will ever equal the exposure that he will receive having his main client as the exhibition band for the semi finals.  Thousands of students and hundreds of band directors will not only hear MusicMan's charts done by this group but they will get to rub elbows with him and talk to him about his business.  Even picking up 3 or 4 additional competitive schools will be a significant boost to his business.

Hopefully my parents will be able to arrive on Wednesday and we will leave on Thursday and drive to Kentucky where our client will practice.  The events start on Thursday in Indy.  The last time we went was when Big Brother was only 18 months old.  We picked up 4 schools that next year.

This is huge.  Did I mention that?

Also - I'm going to have some free time and will be able to visit some friends and maybe even squeeze in some business.

I'm getting excited.
