His name is Rascal and he came from the Rescue Shelter. They had already named him and we didn't have the heart to change it after so much time.
We took a ride over to the shelter Friday afternoon. We looked at 4 or 5 dogs and while they all were loving, there wasn't that "connection.
We were explaining to the lady there about what we were looking for in a pet and she said that she had a dog in back that had been there about a year that might work. She brought this one out and he immediate took to my hubby and big sister.
When we brought him on the other side of the fence where Big Brother and Little Sister were standing - the dog started dancing and licking and making the two little humans laugh like crazy.
The side door to our van was open and the dog jumped right up on the seat and plopped down with a look as if to say, "I'm going home with you" and we knew we had our dog.
He's been here 2 nights and no yelping, barking or accidents. He's estimated to be about 3 years old and so far, he's fitting right in to our family. The two younger children are having so much fun. He appears to like Little Sister the most, mainly because she's the only one who is sneaking him Krispy Kreme Do Nuts, LOL. She got into time out today for feeding the dog. They've run and jumped and laughed and he's sat beside her while she holds her dolly and is still. She's still not totally up and running but this dog senses that and will just sit down beside her for an hour. When we go outside, he's up and ready to go potty and he's very active while outdoors. Once we return inside - he's calm and still. Couldn't ask for better (so far).
I'm really thankful that the rescue lady knew his personality and temperament well enough to be able to fit him with our family.
He's fixed, chipped and disease free.
He's also loved.
PS. I've had to take a short trip to Savannah for a few days for some business. I'll resume the Hawaii trip pictures once I return. Be well everyone.
